My name is Kayla, and I've been teaching yoga for over 19 years. As a certified yoga teacher, yoga therapist, health coach, health education specialist, holistic stress management instructor, and resilience and thriving facilitator, I'm passionate about using all the tools in my toolbox to help you reduce stress, build resilience, and improve your well-being so you can thrive in all areas of your life.
I take an evidence-based and holistic-minded approach to supporting your well-being. With the whole person in mind, I use techniques and practices from the traditions of yoga and mindfulness - as well as the professions of health promotion, education, and coaching - to empower you on your journey toward a healthier life. My role is to meet you where you are and educate, inspire, support, and encourage you on your own unique path toward less stress, more ease, and greater well-being.
I've lived with anxiety for much of my life and experienced multiple panic attacks that sent me to the emergency room. But yoga, mindfulness, and meditation have transformed my life and provided me with an effective way to manage my anxiety, cope with stress, and deal with difficult emotions.
I'm also a mom of two bright, beautiful, and creative children with my partner Jamie. We love hiking National Parks, walking local nature trails, traveling and visiting museums and new towns or cities, playing games, and exploring different cuisines and delicious food. We also have a curious and playful kitty named Tallulah.

My passion for health and well-being in body, mind, and spirit (along with my insatiable curiosity and love of learning) guided my pursuit of a well-rounded education. I received my Associate's Degree in Biology from Burlington County College, where I gained a solid foundation for understanding the science of the body. I then moved on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Sciences from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, where I studied Religion and Psychology. There, I was able to deepen my understanding of the philosophical underpinnings of yoga and mindfulness, as well as other Eastern religions and philosophies including Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism.
After welcoming my two children, I returned to school to complete my Master’s Degree in Health Promotion and Community Health Education from Maryland University of Integrative Health. I was able to deepen my skills and experience around creating and implementing effective, evidence-based, and holistic-minded health promotion programs and interventions that can benefit various different populations and communities.
I am also a Workplace Well-being Specialist and Certified Health Education Specialist. I have experience creating and implementing evidence-based wellness programming for employees in a workplace setting, as well as health education curriculum and lesson plans for students within a school-based setting.
Over the years - in between raising my children, working, and deepening my education - I also completed the following trainings to enhance my ability to serve others:
I am dedicated to continuing my education, growth, and development so that I may better serve, support, and guide others on their own journeys toward greater health and well-being. And I am grateful for all the teachers I've had on my own journey along the way.
Feel free to email me at kayla@mindfulhealthyyou.com and I'm happy to answer any questions. We can even set up some time to chat about how I might be able to support you on your well-being journey.
